We are heartbroken.

Oriental Radius Adult Di Brown
1st – Robson’s ADELFSH SELINA KYLE (43bs) F 30/06/11.  A neat little female of good overall type, still quite kitten-like at present. Not entirely sure she is Shaded, the silver undercoat does not go up the hair shaft very far, good coat texture though. Eyes rather yellow toned.  Easy to handle.

Inca getting closer!

Picture
Inca is starting to win over the older cats. Here is the start of a future cat pile. Not bad for the first week!

Incala has arrived at Avalon!

Picture
Here she is on her first day.

She is learning where everything is and bonding with the humans, under the watchful eye of grandmother Sabella. Bambi and Django are a bit upset, but are getting plenty of fuss.

She has discovered the dragonfly toy and she has quite a lot to say for herself!

Vega's kittens are off to their new homes in early October.

Here's some pictures of them growing up and having fun.

First pic of Vega's kittens

Picture
It's early days, but it looks like we have a black silver shaded, 4 chocolate silvers and possibly a lilac or caramel silver shaded. They are all Orientals, so they will have green eyes. As they grow older their coats will lighten until they have beautiful shading on their bodies and tabby markings on their legs, tails and faces.

Claire reports that they are very vocal little darlings and their personalities are beginning to shine through already.

Vega is proving an excellent mum, washing and feeding them, although she does plonk herself down on them sometimes, and they have to squeak for assistance!

Next milestone - eyes opening! This should happen between 7 and 10 days. Their eyes will begin baby blue and change to green as they grow up.

Kittens!

Vega has had kittens today! (30 June 2011). We'll update you with more details soon.

Breeding plans

Serafina is back from stud, but does not appear to be pregnant. She'll go back when she is ready. This is quite common with first matings - it is a bit stressful for a cat that is part of the home to be sent somewhere else! This time round she will be more familiar with the general goings on.

Vega is now also back from stud, and back at her home with Harley and Diesel, who have not hissed at her at all - Vega's owner used talcum powder to disguise the stud smell and it seems to have done the trick! We'll know if Vega is expecting next week.

RIP Alaska, Avalon Little Wing

Picture
Leo's sister and companion, Alaska, was unexpectedly killed. Everyone who knew her is saddened, and our thoughts and prayers are with her owners and Leo who are feeling her loss so very much.

Here is a lovely picture of her as a beautiful adult, and below is a picture of Leo and Alaska cuddling.

Leo has also entered the Cravendale Cats Have Thumbs competition!

Picture
Mika and Leo, two of Sabella's kittens from the 2010 litter, have entered the Mirror's Cravendale Cats With Thumbs competition! Mika is in the top three and you can see Leo and Alaska cuddling on the front page too! Please keep voting - they are doing all of these things naturally, without photoshop, because they are happy, confident cats with great owners and that is always worth voting for!

Mika is in the final of the Cravendale Cats Have Thumbs competition!!!!

Picture
Mika, one of Sabella's 2010 litter, has made it to the final of the Mirror's Cravendale Cats Have Thumbs competition!!! He's as clever as his mum! He obviously rules the roost with Linda and Gary, his family; and I am sure that Storm and Sumen appreciate his exploits, as he seems to use his thumbs to steal treats!  You can vote for him here!

Serafina and Vega both won 1st and BOB at the Supreme 2010!

Picture
Well done to both of them!
